Fiscalización ciudadana da cuenta de incumplimientos y nueva contaminación ambiental en sector Las Tejas del Río Rocín.
Una nueva denuncia contra Minera Vizcachitas por incumplir las leyes ambientales ha sido presentada por Vecinos En Movimiento Por El Valle De Putaendo durante el mes de marzo del 2021 ante la Superintendencia Del Medio Ambiente (SMA).
La solicitud ciudadana, al máximo organismo fiscalizador, implica supervisar e informar públicamente, respecto al cumplimiento de los planes de reparación que la empresa debió ejecutar, como respuesta al proceso sancionatorio que enfrentó en el año 2017, que detectó, entre otros delitos ambientales: realizar 82 plataformas de sondajes mineros, habilitación de caminos, sin permiso de los organismos respectivos; robo de agua y destrucción de 6,7 hectáreas de bosque nativo con especies nativas protegidas y con alto riesgo de extinción.
En este último punto, donde la empresa que debía reforestar, no cumplió lo comprometido, pues se constata en la fiscalización ciudadana, realizada en octubre y noviembre del 2020 por parte de especialistas en medio ambiente, que todas las especies replantadas están muertas, y además el sector se convirtió en un basural de plásticos, mangueras y residuos, que debieron ser usados para asegurar la sobrevivencia de al menos el 75% de los árboles nuevos.
Por lo tanto, Minera Vizcachitas, no cumplió la reparación del daño ambiental y además generó nuevos daños, creando un basural en el sector Las Tejas.
La comunidad, está exigiendo a la SMA la fiscalización en terreno y el rechazo al plan de cumplimiento, además de una sanción a la empresa de manera ejemplar, ya que ésta ha actuado reiteradamente, fuera de la legislación vigente.
Junto a esto, se exige a las autoridades locales y regionales, que esta nueva denuncia sea considerada como un antecedente irrefutable del actuar negligente de la empresa, en el actual proceso de evaluación ambiental, donde la compañía minera, pretende conseguir la aprobación de una nueva campaña de 350 sondajes mineros en el mismo sector ya dañado, en el principal afluente del agua de la comuna de Putaendo.
